42 North Dental is a company built by dentists, where everything we do centers around enabling doctors to provide patients with the best possible dental experience.

42 North Dental was founded in 1980 by Dr. Ronald Weissman and Dr. Samuel Shames under the name Gentle Dental Partners. Over the last 40 years we have grown into a dental support organization built on the belief that dentists want to focus on caring for their patients rather than on the business of running a practice.

Our supported doctors come from top dental schools and benefit from extensive training, mentoring and continuing education.

We have innovative technology, efficient business operations, and specialists on staff.

Patients can always expect friendly, high quality, affordable care conveniently located in their neighborhood at a 42 North Dental supported practice.

Our award-winning supported doctors have been recognized as the top dentists in the region by their peers, communities and patients.

Our Locations

We partner with practices across New England so patients can get the care they need easily and conveniently.

Our Vision: Healthy Confident Smiles For Life

We are rooted in New England and committed to our communities. Giving back is an important part of who we are, and when you join one of our supported practices you will have the opportunity to join those 42 North efforts.

The Second Step

42 North Dental partners with The Second Step, a community of survivors, advocates, and volunteers who foster the safety, stability, and well-being of those who have experienced domestic violence.  Learn more about our unique partnership.

The Dr. Jay Pivor Memorial Award

In memory of the contributions of Dr. Jay Pivor, Dental Director of Gentle Dental Arlington. Dr. Pivor was greatly valued by his patients for his skill, compassion, and chairside manor, and by his peers as a key member of the Clinical Management Team. This award is for doctors currently practicing at a supported practice. The goal of the award is to recognize an exemplary community service project focused on enhancing access to quality dental care in under-served populations, and to honor Dr. Pivor’s lifetime commitment to human well-being through dental care.

Smiles for Life

Great Hill Dental Partners, a 42 North Dental supported practice, offers teeth whitening to patients every summer. The patient proceeds are donated to the Smiles For Life charity organization as well as a local charity. The whitening kits are donated, as are the time and resources of the doctors and staff at all five Great Hill Dental locations. smilesforlife.org
