42 North Dental Launches ‘Beyond Traditional Leadership’ Continuing Education Curriculum to its Supported Doctors in Collaboration with Massachusetts Dental Society

Today 42 North Dental, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS), launches the ‘Beyond Traditional Leadership’ continuing education curriculum. This unique program aims to broaden the view of new and emerging dental leaders within the 42 North Dental network by providing insight and new ways of thinking about today’s challenges. The collaboration is the first of its kind for the MDS, leveraging its expansive continuing education network and expertise to offer a member-curated curriculum.

The “Beyond Traditional Leadership” curriculum includes four courses, over four months, concluding at the MDS’s Yankee Dental Congress in Boston, MA in late January 2024. The program was carefully crafted to offer education that goes beyond clinical competency and delves into topics of empathy, leadership, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

The four-course curriculum includes:

  • LGBTQIA2S+ & DEI Oral Health Workshop
    • Speaker: Dr. Tyler Sanslow
  • Lens of Empathy: Using Clinical Photography to Connect and Communicate with Patients
    • Speakers: Dr. Sungyong Ban and Dr. Ancy Verdier
  • Think Like a CEO
    • Speaker: Dr. Chris Salierno
  • Learning to Lead — 5 Stars of Leadership
    • Speaker: Dr. Kathy O’Loughlin

Offering meaningful, relevant continuing education is integral to building 42 North Dental’s culture of quality and its clinical principles of quality, safety, and efficiency. Dr. Stephanie Payne, Regional Clinical Director at 42 North Dental, shared 42 North Dental’s needs with the MDS to help create the program. “I work closely with our doctors and have heard more and more that they are looking for education that could help them become better overall leaders for the benefit of their practice and patients” says Dr. Payne. She continues, “ we communicated this to the MDS and they assembled a curriculum that broadens our CE offering to more fully deliver on the complete practice of dentistry.”

Dr. Michael Scialabba, Chief Clinical Officer for 42 North Dental adds, “One-off CE is great, but to truly become a well-rounded clinician, dentists need to look at all areas of the patient experience and how they run their practice in order to enhance that experience. Our commitment to quality starts with clinical but extends far beyond.”

By strategically collaborating with fellow dental industry leaders, 42 North Dental is able to provide clinicians with best-in-class continuing education classes and learning tracks. And deliver on building an unmatched culture of quality.
